This is a 20-hour a week position

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willingness and ability to drive a 15-seat passenger van.
  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant License.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.

 

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of background screening process to include, but not limited to, drug testing and finger printing.
  • Willingness and ability to work in Lake City, Florida.
  • Willing to work for $16.00/hr.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Employee is responsible to provide direct nursing care to residents of the Veterans’ Domiciliary Home of Florida, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with facility Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides assistance with all aspects of resident care as assigned by the shift supervisor, including activities of daily living, ambulation, and mobility in facility.
  • Respond promptly and courteously when answering call lights. Observe, identify, and report resident concerns or needs to the shift supervisor.
  • Complete assignments timely, completely, accurately and in a cooperative manner. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service and FDVA policies and procedures.
  • Provide the assistance necessary when giving residents the following activities of daily living nursing care: oral hygiene; bathing; dressing and grooming; hair and nail care; shaving; toileting; eating and drinking; mobility.
  • Assist with related functions to, for, and with residents to include activities such as escorting to meals; assisting with laundry; and assisting with participation in activities, as needed. Perform restorative measures such as obtaining and recording vital signs/weights, and assistance with self-administration of medications.
  • Document services provided within facility software/database Consistently work cooperatively and respectfully with residents, family or resident representatives, facility staff, physicians, ARNP’s, consultants and ancillary service providers.
  • Always follows Residents Rights policies. Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Transport and/or escort residents to appointments as assigned. Assist with monitoring and accountability of residents to enable medical personnel to accomplish health related tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as required. Attend all in-service programs, training classes, and domiciliary meetings. Assume responsibility and accountability for information contained in the Employee Handbook.
  • Observe all facility safety, infection control and quality improvement, HIPPA policies and procedures, and internal quality improvement processes.

This position is an (OPS) Temporary position.
